Seasons Greetings

Christmas Holly

I’d like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in 2010.

2009 has been a momentous year for the World, Ireland and me personally. For me in contrast this has been a wonderful year and I am looking forward to 2010 with optimism and hope. Its my heartfelt wish that for everyone else we will see a positive upturn in fortunes.

Enjoy your Christmas and don’t party too hard!!!

Boxed wine – Bacchus for the masses or swill for the asses?

As we cruise into the season of overindulgence and gorging a little debate has sprung up within my sphere of friends.

Is boxed wine really wine or just an alcoholic cheap grape juice? Now the wife and I just have to have our vino in bottles with real corks but others just want the easily stack-ability of the boxed product.

So what do you think? Do you want a good bottle of Old World wine wizardry or does the outback spirit of a boxful of joy jerk your chain.

Oh and on the subject of our upside down friends. Australian wine is like listening to a Bluegrass AC/DC cover band. You recognise the songs but they just don’t sound right!

So come on let’s ditch the politics and ferment an answer to the important questions for us all. Is boxed wine really wine? Would Bacchus approve of his wine out of a container for the commoners?

2nd annual Photobook Launch Tonight

The 2nd annual Photobook Launch is tonight, all profits go to Santa Strike Force again this year. The book can be purchased from here

Santa Strike Force anonymously buy and distribute cool stuff for kids to hospitals and care-centres because it sucks being there for xmas and despite knowing that there’s no Santa they feel the position has been vacant long enough and there really aught to be one.

The photobook is a collection of 70+ of the best pictures the photographers on the photography forum have taken this year. Each photographer (many professionals) have donated their best picture for nothing to this project.

This is the one I submitted.

If you are in town drop into the Dublin Camera Club, 10 Lower Camden Street, Dublin 2 @ 7.30pm tonight. I believe there will be a few copies of the book to purchase tonight as well.

Think of the children :)
